2016-17 – CALL for ‘Poetry in Translation’

Mosaici: Learned Online Journal of Italian Poetry is now accepting submissions for the journal’s “Poetry in Translation” section. 


Please consider submitting your unpublished work for one of the following categories:


1.     Poems in Italian translated into English

2.     Poems in English translated into Italian

3.     Poems in languages other than English translated into Italian 

4.    Short critical essays on any aspect of translation theory or practice (max. 2500 words, more details below)


For each submission, please provide (as separate documents)

·      A short bio of the author (max 150 words)

·      A short bio of the translator/s (max 150 words each)

·      Optional: a brief intro to the translated poems (max 300 words)


Please send your proposals as a Word document and include the original text. For the critical essays, please follow the Chicago Manual of Style


If accepted for publication, it is the translator’s responsibility to provide a statement granting Mosaici permission to publish both the original work and the translation online, as well as declaring that you are in a position to grant us such rights.


The deadline for submission is February 15, 2017. Authors and translators will be notified by June 15, 2017. The selected works will appear in the Fall 2017 issue of Mosaici.
